For my Masters Degree thesis, I wrote about rehabilitation uses and effects of Virtual Reality, expansive natural spaces' positive impact on mental health disorders and the possibility of the combination of the two. I concluded that using virtual reality as a self-help tool by entering calming natural scenes could have a positive impact on those with Generalised Anxiety Disorder. After testing out my natural scene on those diagnosed, recording an average resting heart rate of at 102bpm when uncomfortable and an average 25bpm drop when within the virtual environment.
I built the waterfall scene within blender, textured it and animated it. I then imported it into Unity Engine and added in some water sound effects and some birds chirping also.
